Sarah Jane built Britten's reputation on one-of-a-kind custom wedding veils, designed in collaboration with brides around the world. We no longer take fully bespoke commissions — but you can still have a veil that's unmistakably yours. Every wedding veil in our collection is handmade in our Bath workshop using the same English couture techniques, and can be made personal with hand embroidery.
Made in our Bath workshop, a stone's throw from the Abbey. Each piece is crafted individually—never mass-produced or imported.
We source materials from specialist mills and suppliers in England, Italy and the USA, selected for quality and longevity.
Every order arrives beautifully wrapped and ready to gift. No additional packaging needed—just hand it over. Presented in our signature keepsake box with grosgrain ribbon.
Founded by Sarah, Britten is an independent atelier seen in The Crown on Netflix, featured in Vogue and Style Me Pretty.
"I believe your veil should tell your unique story through every detail. Each Britten piece is designed to become a treasured family heirloom with its own chapters to write." — Sarah, Founder
Sarah Jane now focuses on Britten's collection, so we no longer take fully bespoke veil commissions. You can still create a veil that's unique to you: choose from our full range of styles, lengths and fabrics, and add personalised embroidery for hand-stitched dates, initials or motifs. Explore all veils.
Bespoke veils offered complete design freedom in collaboration with Sarah Jane and started from £450. While we no longer take bespoke commissions, our ready to wear collection is made with the same couture techniques in the same Bath workshop, and can still be personalised with embroidery.
Our comprehensive wedding veil guide covers length options and styling advice. You can also browse our real brides wearing veils gallery for inspiration on how different styles complement various dress silhouettes.
Established in 2007, Britten is one of the oldest wedding veil ateliers, with Sarah Jane pioneering concepts like personalised embroidery and the 'barely there' style, now protected by the UK Intellectual Property Office. Each piece is individually handcrafted in Bath by skilled artisans, not mass-produced.
Yes, our detailed wedding veil FAQ covers everything from care instructions to styling advice. We create wedding veils for clients worldwide and work with high-profile customers including the entertainment industry.
