The Britten Atelier in Bath, England | Since 2011
Britten creates handcrafted wedding veils and accessories for brides worldwide. Every piece is made in our atelier using premium materials from specialist Italian and English mills. Never mass-produced, never outsourced. Since 2011, we've perfected shipping directly to brides across the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and beyond.

English Couture, Not Mass Production
Every veil and accessory is handcrafted in our Bath atelier by a single artisan, ensuring consistent quality and personal care throughout the process. We maintain traditional couture methods while selling directly to brides—the only reason our pieces remain English-made in an industry dominated by mass production.
We source materials exclusively from specialist mills in Italy, France and England, the same suppliers trusted by haute couture houses. This includes French and English Lace, Devonian Tulle, and premium Italian Tulle. We've built these relationships over more than a decade, accessing exceptional quality materials that simply aren't available through mass-market suppliers.

Trusted by Thousands of Brides
Tens of thousands of brides have worn Britten pieces on their wedding day. We're grateful for every commission and especially proud of our nearly 4,000 reviews from brides across the UK, United States, Canada, and Australia.
These reviews reflect not just quality, but the experience of working with a small, dedicated workshop that treats each order with individual care. From answering questions about veil lengths to coordinating lace patterns with dress details, we ensure every piece is absolutely perfect.
The Barely There Veil
Britten pioneered the 'barely there' veil style—an ultra-fine, minimal design we developed and registered with the UK Intellectual Property Office in 2016. This signature style represents years of technical refinement, using the finest possible tulle weight to create veils that are virtually weightless yet beautifully elegant.
The barely there veil exemplifies our approach: creating original designs with meticulous attention to craft, rather than following trends or copying competitors. Our registered design protection reflects this commitment to authentic craftsmanship in an industry often dominated by imitation.
"I've spent over a decade building relationships with the finest mills in Italy, France, and England. These aren't materials you can order from catalogues, they're the same tulles and laces used by couture houses. That level of quality is non-negotiable for Britten." Sarah, Founder.
Trained at the London College of Fashion and Cordwainers, Sarah has been designing veils and accessories for tens of thousands of brides for 15 years. Today, Britten is an independent English atelier known worldwide.
