Inspired by a modern midsummer night’s dream, Real Bride Leanne combined elements of nature with a contemporary feel to match the impressive wedding venue and complete her stunning bridal look as she married Nick on the 11th August 2018, all captured beautifully by photographer Steven Dray
Leanne pieced together each aspect of her wedding day by scouring Pinterest and Instagram, finding her favourite bridal pieces and sourcing those little finishing touches which helped to make the day extra special. She eventually chose an exquisitely detailed plunge neck Delta dress from Blush by Hayley Paige at Serendipity Bridal in Austin, Texas, paired with shoes by Kenneth Cole, for a suitably modern yet elegantly romantic look.
Leanne accessorized her gown with the barely there wedding veil Skylar in white traditional tulle at fingertip length complete with gold comb, accompanied by the delicate gold floral hairpiece Flora. This selection worked extremely well with a sophisticated low bun up-do created by Joy Lynn of JL Makeup Studio in Pittsburgh.
She also added further touches of gold and pearl with the gold floral bracelet Flora and the pearl drop wedding necklace and earring set in gold Hermie
As Leanne walked down the aisle to a string trio version of "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel, the modern architecture of the greenhouse terrace at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, proved to be the perfect setting for the most perfect of ceremonies. The abundance of nature on display, served as a sumptuous backdrop as the couple shared an intimate moment exchanging personal vows they had written for each other.
Planned by our Real Bride and her mother, with support from wedding co-ordinator Katelyn Larsen of the Phipps Conservatory on the day, the entire celebration was organized seamlessly. Surrounded flowers by MochaRose Floral and Event Design and table linens from Lendable Linens in Pittsburgh, PA, the wedding party continued the festivities at the wedding reception enjoying mouthwatering catering from Sodexo.
Continuing the wedding theme, the minimalist cake design by Bella Christie and Lil' Z's Sweet Boutique bakery, was decorated with dusk-pink roses and delicate green foliage. Leanne and Nick joyfully reflect on the moment they ‘absolutely massacred the cake-cutting, laughing ridiculously through the entirely too-long process’
During the speeches, Leanne’s bridesmaid, Tess, read a meaningful excerpt from Neil Gaiman, reminding the newlywed couple and their guests of the commitment they’ve made to each other, and how their partnership will strengthen and grow over time as they work together as man and wife:
"Because there are things you cannot know before you experience them. Because no study can prepare you for the joys or the trials. Because nobody else's love, nobody else's marriage, is like yours, and it's a road you can only learn by walking it, a dance you cannot be taught, a song that did not exist before you began, together, to sing."
Nick and Leanne then had their first dance to "If Not For You" by George Harrison, and guests danced the night away to Steven Vance Entertainment’s Crystal Strings Trio and DJ Mike Greca.
Ready to 'learn new roads', Leanne and Nick then spent their honeymoon adventuring up the Pacific Coast Highway in California from San Diego to San Francisco, starting their new journey together in the Californian sunshine.
We're absolutely delighted that Leanne chose to share the wonderful pictures taken on her special day, and we wish the happy couple lots of love, luck, and happiness for the future.
