Amongst the glass facades of high rise buildings and meandering waterways, Britten Bride Alanna moved through the relaxed neighbourhood of Castlefield in Manchester with her groom, celebrating their marriage with friendly passersby.
Photographer Agnes Black used her unique storytelling style to showcase the special moments of the day. Manipulating light and shadow, she was able to give an intimate and authentic insight into the couple's wedding day.
Wearing a figure-hugging strappy wedding gown from The Signature Collection at Wed2B, Alanna accessorised the embroidered lace detail of the Wyatt wedding dress with shoes from John Lewis and our ballet length full lace edged ivory wedding veil 'Luisa'.
Alanna paired the classic hand-crafted ivory wedding veil with long tumbling curls styled by Andrew Trott-Barn. The finest quality full lace edge and traditional Somerset tulle complemented the design of the dress perfectly.
Alanna completed her bridal look with make-up by award-winning Manchester-based makeup artist Tally Bookbinder and bridal jewellery from Liberty in Love and Olivia Burton.
Starting the day in the delightfully quaint Lock Keepers Cottage, Alanna left the historic 1800s property to arrive at The Portico Library in the heart of bustling Manchester city centre for the wedding ceremony.
As the couple exchanged vows within the historic and atmospheric library setting, Alanna's friend Leah shared a bespoke reading she had prepared with the wedding party.
Following the ceremony, the new Mr and Mrs and their guests made their way on foot to the wedding reception venue. It was this post-ceremony walk that led to one of Alanna's most memorable moments of the day:
'We were cheered as we walked through Castlefield and we met a girl whose Holy Communion was the same day. She was desperate to meet a real-life bride and I gave her some of my bouquet to keep'
The celebrations continued at The Castlefield Rooms who also provided the catering. The room was decorated by Frog Flowers and a close friend of the couple made their gorgeous wedding cake.
Once the cake was cut, Alanna and her groom took to the dancefloor for their first dance to Couldn't Love You More by John Martyn, and they were soon joined by their family and friends who danced the night away.
